AWS partners with Superblocks for private-cloud app dev.

Amazon Web Services has entered into a multiyear joint marketing agreement with Superblocks, an early-stage startup specializing in vibe-coding. This partnership allows the startup's application-building platform to run directly within the private clouds of AWS enterprise customers. Instead of routing sensitive data to external databases like Supabase, applications built through this integration will spin up Amazon Aurora databases internally. The system also connects directly with Amazon Bedrock, ensuring that all generated applications remain under strict corporate IT governance, auditing, and encryption controls.

Superblocks, which currently employs 50 people, has raised $60 million in total funding as of its Series A announcement in May 2025, with backing from Greenoaks, Meritech Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Spark Capital. While AWS offers its own developer-focused AI coding agent called Kiro and a business assistant named Quick, it lacks a dedicated vibe-coding tool for non-technical business users. By co-selling Superblocks, AWS fills this gap while reinforcing a broader cloud industry strategy. Hyperscalers are actively encouraging clients to decouple their underlying AI models from the orchestration and security scaffolding, keeping the latter firmly within their cloud ecosystems.

For enterprise IT practitioners and CIOs, this development accelerates the transition to secure, multi-model architectures. Rather than relying on a single frontier model provider, organizations are increasingly diversifying their AI infrastructure to avoid vendor lock-in and mitigate data privacy risks. This shift is already visible in developer behavior, with open-source models representing 29 percent of all traffic routed through Vercel's AI gateway last month. Superblocks co-founder and CEO Brad Menezes emphasizes that a multi-model approach has become a necessity for modern CIOs. By securing vibe-coding tools inside private clouds, practitioners can now safely democratize software creation for business users without exposing proprietary data to external AI labs.
