How AI News Online handles personal data, as required by articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR.

In short

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no trackers. There is no account to create and no form to submit, so we collect nothing from you directly. Two things are unavoidable: your request reaches our hosting provider, and some article pictures are fetched from the publishers who took them.

Server logs

Serving a page means receiving a request, and a request carries your IP address, the page asked for, the time, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. Our hosting provider records these in the ordinary course of running the service.

Legal basis: article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is operating the site, keeping it available and defending it against abuse. These logs are not used to build a profile of you, are not combined with anything else, and are neither sold nor shared. They are kept only as long as that purpose requires and are then deleted on the provider’s ordinary rotation.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Railway Corporation, United States, which processes the request data described above on our behalf as a processor under article 28 GDPR. That provider is established outside the European Economic Area, so serving a page can involve a transfer to a third country. Such transfers take place on the basis of the data protection terms agreed with them.

Pictures from publishers

Some article pictures are loaded from the publisher that produced them rather than copied onto our servers. Your browser therefore requests the image from that publisher directly, and they receive your IP address and user agent as a result. For that request they are an independent controller and their own privacy terms govern it, not ours. Our own artwork and our cached copies are served from our servers and involve no third party.

What this site does not do

No cookies are set, so no consent is required under section 25 TDDDG and no banner appears. There is no analytics, tracking pixel, advertising network or social media plugin. Typefaces are served from our own servers, so loading a page sends nothing to a font provider. Nothing about you is decided automatically, and no profiling takes place.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data (article 15), its correction (16) or erasure (17), a restriction on its processing (18), and a copy in a portable form (20). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests (21). Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (article 77) in the member state where you live, where you work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. To exercise any of these rights, write to the address above.

Changes

This notice describes the site as it currently works. If what the site does changes, this page changes with it.
