OpenAI turns ChatGPT into an enterprise work platform
OpenAI has unveiled a suite of collaborative features and developer tools for ChatGPT, positioning the AI assistant as a central operating system for enterprise workflows.

At its DevDay event, OpenAI announced a massive overhaul of ChatGPT, introducing features that shift the tool from a simple chatbot to a collaborative work hub. The update introduces ChatGPT Space, a shared workspace where teams can organize files and chats with the help of a new AI assistant named Dot. Alongside Space, OpenAI launched Pages, a collaborative document editor, and announced Collaborative Slides, a tool rolling out in the coming weeks that allows users and AI agents to build presentations together and export them to PowerPoint or Google Slides.
To embed ChatGPT into existing workflows, OpenAI is integrating the assistant directly into Slack and Microsoft Teams via @mentions. A new Meetings Plugin, launching in beta on macOS for Pro and Business users, automatically generates notes and summaries from meeting audio. Furthermore, OpenAI is adopting the MCP Events specification to trigger automated workflows based on external app activity, while Business and Enterprise users can delegate recurring workflows to Team Tasks. Developers also gain access to Plugin Extensions to build interactive panels inside ChatGPT.
The company is also restructuring its commercial offerings. OpenAI is launching the Pro 500 plan and bringing back a $200 subscription tier. Through a new 'Sign in with ChatGPT' identity layer, Plus and Pro users can spend their usage quotas across 16 partner tools, including Cognition's Devin, Notion, Vercel, T3, OpenClaw, and Dactyl. For enterprise clients, the new OpenAI Marketplace launches with 32 partners, including Adobe, Figma, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Harvey, Legora, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Baseten, allowing companies to redirect their OpenAI spend toward approved third-party software.
For developers and enterprise practitioners, these updates transform ChatGPT from a passive conversational interface into an active coordinator of daily operations. Instead of constantly switching between separate applications, users can now centralize their document editing, slide creation, and meeting summaries within a single environment. By allowing third-party tools to share subscription quotas and trigger automated background tasks, OpenAI is establishing ChatGPT as a foundational infrastructure layer for modern business software.
