The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has implemented a comprehensive ban on importing foreign advanced robotics, including humanoid, wheeled, and quadruped designs. Citing national security risks and the need to secure domestic supply chains, the regulator pointed to vulnerabilities like a past breach where an intruder hijacked 7,000 robot vacuums. This aggressive move mirrors broader federal efforts to shield the domestic artificial intelligence sector, which include weighing bans on open-source Chinese AI models that currently save businesses an estimated $25 billion annually.
