Anthropic is expanding its footprint in India by partnering with digital services firm Infosys to develop specialized generative and agentic AI tools. The collaboration combines Anthropic's Claude models and Claude Code with Infosys Topaz, an AI-focused suite of services. By leveraging the Claude Agent SDK, the two companies aim to help enterprises build autonomous agents capable of executing complex, multi-step workflows while meeting the strict compliance standards of highly regulated sectors.

The joint initiative targets several major industries. In telecommunications, these AI agents will automate network operations and customer lifecycle management. Financial institutions can deploy them to accelerate risk assessment, automate compliance reporting, and deliver customized financial advice. For manufacturing and engineering, Claude will assist in product design and simulation to shorten research timelines. Additionally, software development teams will utilize Claude Code to write and debug software, while enterprise operations will use Claude Cowork to automate routine administrative tasks like document summarization.

This alliance highlights India's growing importance in the AI ecosystem, where it already ranks as the second-largest market for Claude.ai. Developers in the region heavily utilize the platform, with nearly half of India's Claude usage dedicated to building applications, modernizing legacy systems, and shipping production software. For enterprise developers and IT practitioners, this partnership simplifies the process of migrating legacy infrastructure to modern AI architectures. Because Claude is available across Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure, practitioners can deploy these new agentic workflows within their existing cloud environments.
